From the interview with Pastor Hesbone you will note that the cost of a shallow well is 5,000 to 6,000 USD. However for a deep well - good drinking water - the cost would be some 15,000 USD.

We also have some contacts that would help us to install solar panels for power, rather than fuel-powered generators. This would increase the initial outlay by around 4,000 USD, but the running costs would be minimal with solar power.

Accountability through DOVE Missions Africa

DOVE Africa, whose main office is in Nairobi, Kenya, have a church-planting vision. They have planted over 65 churches in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda in the last 15 years. Their vision is to plant many churches in the area of Western Kenya, starting with the village of Kadawa and the nearby city of Kisumu.

We believe sinking this well and meeting a desperate need of the people will be a key factor in the development of this church-planting vision.
